January/February updates: summary

Kephi Gallery

You might have noticed that there were two occasions this month (Jan. 27th and Feb. 7th) that Kephi Gallery’s exchange was under scheduled maintenance, but what was actually done?

If you are a current user of the exchange, you surely noticed a few upgrades on the frontend. But most was done “behind the curtains”, so we want to take a minute to explain:

In the frontend, the first you might have noticed its a greatly improved speed and performance. No more choppy loading, or disproportionate RAM usage; the exchange now uses state-of-the-art real time compression to show all the NFTs faster than ever.

Additionally, there were small but significant upgrades in the collections and profiles. Now there’s an “on sale” filter for collections, “load more” buttons instead of the old fashioned pagination system, and proper loading animations from the home page to the profiles.

But the biggest changes were done under the hood: the entire backend was rebuilt. This included building and linking to our very own IPFS node. This translates into faster minting, more secure NFTs and faster loading speeds for our users.

As part of our roadmap, we want to conduct major UI/UX upgrades throughout this first quarter of 2022. Some of these improvements will include search and filter features, more features for the collections, the possibility of bulk minting (for over 5k NFTs at once!), and much more ;)

So stay tuned, and expect many more improvements soon!
